Call for applications for civil society organisations and communities – SWIMATHON 2018

Do you have a project idea that you would implement if you had at least 1 million forints?

Would you like to be part of a cheerful fundraising action that is still novel in Hungary but which has been organized successfully twice before?

Would you like to expand the circle and database of your supporters?

Would you like to be part of a funding relationship, in which your funder is not in an ivory tower but whom you have direct contact with?

Would you like to play with us and invite others to play for a good cause – your good cause?

If your answer to these question is yes and if your dream project would take place in Ferencváros and/or for the community of Ferencváros, then why don’t you apply for the Swimathon 2018 fundraising event? Last year the Swimathon won the prize of “The most successful fundraising campaign” awarded by the Non-profit Information and Training Center (NIOK) Foundation.

During the 2nd Swimathon in 2017 the selected seven projects succeeded in raising over 16 million forints from 3000 contributions and with the help of 140 swimmers. Please click here to see the website of last year’s Swimathon (in Hungarian), click here to read a written summary of the event and here to watch a video of Swimathon 2016 (with English subtitles).

Who should apply?

Civil society groups: registered NGOs and informal groups that operate in Ferencváros, and/or ones which are planning programmes that would benefit the Ferencváros community.

How to apply?

Using the links provided above, find out about the core idea, the goal and the form of Swimathon.

Fill in the online application form and send it to us until 28th on February 18.

Think it through whether you can invite at least 15 but maximum 20 friends, acquaintances, colleagues, supporters, beneficiaries of your activities, partners, who like or believe in your cause and your organization so much that they would agree to campaign for you for four weeks and eventually swim for you, reaching out to their network.

Representatives of the selected applicant organizations/groups will be invited to meet us in our office sometime between March 7-9. In case of mutual agreement, we plan to sign an agreement with representatives of 5 organisations until 14 March and start cooperation. In case the board selects a proposal from a non-formalized group, then their participation is possible if the applicant group can find a registered organization that agrees to host the project. FKA will provide assistance for this.

Swimathon 2018 is envisaged to take place on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
